What these terms cover

These terms cover your use of getsocialreps.app, both the website and the Social Reps app at /app. Using either means you accept them.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older to use the AI part of the app or to create an account. The app asks for your date of birth before the AI part starts and again when you create an account, and it will not create an account for anyone under 18.

What the app is, and what it is not

Social Reps is practice for ordinary conversations, with an AI partner that plays a fictional person and scores how the conversation went. It is not therapy, not counselling, not medical or mental-health advice, and not crisis support. The score is feedback on one text conversation with one made-up person on one day; it is not an assessment of you. If a message suggests you may be in crisis, the app stops the conversation, does not send that message to the AI, and shows real resources instead, including 988 in the US. Those resources are always at If you're struggling. If you are in danger, contact emergency services where you are.

Your key, your account, your data

The app runs on an AI provider key that you supply. The key stays in your browser; we never see, store, or use it, and your use of the provider is governed by their terms and billed by them to you. An account saves your settings and reps to our servers. You can play as a guest first: guest reps are saved in your browser and, during the current testing period, guest conversations are also sent to us, as the privacy policy explains. Deleting a conversation or wiping your progress as a guest deletes our copy too. We read saved transcripts to improve the app, as the privacy policy explains, and you can delete any conversation, wipe all your progress, export everything, or delete the account entirely, at any time.

Custom scenarios and acceptable use

You can write your own scenario. Every custom scenario is checked before it runs, and the app will refuse anything that is not an ordinary, present-day conversation between adults. In particular it will not run scenarios involving historical atrocities or their reenactment, race, religion, ethnicity or any protected group as the subject or the joke, anyone under 18, sexual content, violence, crime, real or named people, or anything designed to demean the partner or anyone else. Trying to get around those checks is a breach of these terms and we may close the account.

The AI partner is fictional. Nothing it says is advice, and it is instructed never to claim to be human, never to produce contact details, and never to use profanity. If it does something it should not, use Report a bug on any screen.

The site itself

The pages outside /app are informational. They describe Social Reps, explain how its AI works, and explain how it runs on your own API key. There is nothing to purchase. Accounts are optional: the app works as a guest.

No promises

The app is provided as it is, and it is early. Nothing on this site is a commitment to a feature, a price, a schedule, or a reply to any email you send. Scores can be wrong, the AI partner can misjudge a line, and a scenario can be refused that a reasonable person would have allowed. We will keep fixing it; we do not promise it is finished.

We can change or shut this down

We can change, suspend, or discontinue this website, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice. We'll try to keep the privacy policy, this page, and the AI and help pages accurate whenever the site changes.

Content and ownership

The text, design, and branding on this site belong to the people behind Social Reps. You're welcome to link to it. Please don't copy the site wholesale or use the name or mark to imply you're affiliated with us.

No warranty

This site is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We're a very small operation and can't promise the site will always be available or error-free.

Governing law

We intend to operate under the laws of the State of Colorado once the operating entity is formed. This section will be confirmed and finalized once that's in place.
